Praise - My Word for 2022


Praise is my word for 2022.  My hopes is that instead of FML mindset I will have one based on thanksgiving.  I don't have much of a plan yet so forgive me as this is going to be somewhat fluid throughout the next year.  

I would like to meditate on scriptures, quotes, and thoughts regularly to change my interior heart.  

I would like to create a praise playlist with songs that uplift, change my focus, and set the mood for when I need an energy boost.  This will be similar to my energy playlist, however the focus on the energy playlist was on me and I want my praise one to be more faith based and external.  

I would like to change my regularly used vocabulary away from a) swear words b) nagging c) critical to uplifting words that leave room for healing, love, and growth.  

I don't want this to be a false praise exercise either.  You've met those people who tell you that you are awesome and you know they are full of it.  They are just saying that because a) makes them feel better and b) they hope to get something from you.  I want this to be a reflection of God's glory through me where I express God's love in such a way that it is not me, but it is He.  

Here are some scriptures for me to meditate upon:

Ephesians 5:20: always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;

Psalm 150:6: Let everything that breathes praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!

Psalm 63:3-4: Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.

Colossians 3:16: Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

Philippians 4:8: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Romans 14:11: It is written: ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’

1 Peter 2:9: But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

Colossians 3:16: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
