Liturgy of the Hours

The Catholic church highly recommends that all the faithful say the Morning and Evening prayers from the Liturgy of the Hours.  You can downloads apps for this, such as iBreviary, or use some shortened forms such as from Magnificat.

"This rhythmic prayer of the psalms was seen as a fulfillment of the biblical injunction to pray constantly. Jesus taught His disciples to 'pray always without becoming weary'...'pray without ceasing'" page 19

"The mystery of Christ, his Incarnation and Passover...permeates and transfigures the time of each day, through the celebration of the Liturgy of the Hours." page 28

"It is medicine for our spiritual health." page 53

It can be a bit overwhelming to start and I am no pro, but I will share some beginner's tips from another beginner.  Start.  Do what you can.  God understands your heart is to worship him.  Eventually you will get into the swing of things.  Does it matter if you chant things the right way, carry the right tune, etc...  There might be someone that says yes, but I will say just start.

I found the above book useful.  It's the only one I have read so I can't recommend it over another.  I found it useful for sure!
