Working with color


There are subtle ways in which we manipulate our environment to support our intentions.  You might use a fragrance to bring energy.  You might where a power color like the classic red tie or blazer.  You might listen to music that pumps you up.  


If we can create an environment that supports our best selves, we should strive towards achieving that.  If, and only if, it doesn't cause further stress.  So use these thoughts if they might help and when you have the time and space to incorporate them.  

While I mention wearing the colors below, think also of incorporating it in other areas.  Accent colors in a room.  Background on your phone.  Ink color for note taking.  Be creative!

Black:
Wearing black deters others from gossiping about you, meddling in your affairs, and interfering with your life.  Black is a protective hue and symbolizes the night, the universe and a lack of falsehood.  Ultimate source of divine energy.

Pale blue:
Wear this shade when you feel confused, need to clear your mind, or feel out of control.  Blue is suited for healers and those who work with their psychic awareness or for attuning with the oceanic aspect.  

Dark blue:
Don this color when you feel the need to get organized and add some structure to your life.

Brown:
If you have lots of excess energy and need to ground and center, brown is a good color for you.  Brown can be worn by those who attune with animals.  

Gold:
Wear gold to make you feel prosperous and secure.

Green:
To increase your ambition, better accept challenges, and achieve a feeling of independence, wear green.  Green can empowers herbalists and ecologists.

Lavender: 
To relax, even in high stress situations, wear lavender.  

Mauve:
To gain co-operation from those around you, wear mauve.

Orange-:
To ease the blahs and increase personal motivation, wear orange.  Orange or red can be worn to connect with the sun and for protective situations.

Peach:
Peach is a safe, unobtrusive, reassuring color.  When you wear it, others view you as a non-threatening force in their lives.

Pink:
Wearing the color pink stimulates self-love and can help you to become your own best friend.  

Purple:
To gain respect of others, wear purple.  It is a terrific color for wearing on job interviews.  Purple is the favored robe color by those who work with pure divine power or who wish to deepen their spirituality and awareness.

Red:
Wear red when you need to take charge of a difficult situation.  It is especially helpful to shy people who hold positions of authority.  

Silver:
Wear silver to reduce inner turmoil and attain a peaceful state of mind.  

Teal:
This shade balances the practical side of human nature with the Spiritual Self.  Wearing it makes you feel like you can handle whatever life throws your way.

Turquoise:
Turquoise is a must for workaholics.  Wearing it can help you to step back and put your workload into perspective.  (Dude, I need more turquoise)

White:
Wear white to relieve tension and to better focus on your life goals.  White robes symbolizes purification and pure spirituality, perfect for mediation, and worn to connect with the Full Moon.

Yellow:
Wear yellow if you feel like your opinions and needs fall on deaf ears or you don’t feel like you are getting through to someone.
