Still Asleep and In My Bedroom

Karen commented the other day that magnesium really works for them and it's on my things to try list.  According to Sound Sleep, Sound Mind, fragmented sleep is a common problem with people with sleep issues.  Fragmented sleep is typically caused by breathing issues and/or body movement.  Kids and pets also don't help.  Like yesterday, yes I'm still sore about it.  Moving on!

According to A Sleep Easy, " A magnesium sleep deficiency causes people to wake up frequently during the night."  Restless Leg Syndrome, a prime example of body movement causing fragmented sleep, can be caused by low levels of magnesium.

Check out all the areas that magnesium impacts:

Pretty crazy huh?  Click on the link above to view the entire article if you are interested as it states that magnesium needs to be combined with calcium.

Almonds are a natural source of magnesium and as luck would have it, Tim Ferris has a tip about that.
Once again in The 4-Hour Body, "Eating two tablespoons of organic almond butter on celery sticks before bed eliminated at least 50% of the “feel like shit” (1–3) mornings."  (p. 281).

Bedroom: I am hoping I can find pictures of our last redecorate of our bedroom to show you all the difference in color and layout of our bedroom.  We are still working on the bedroom.  First, I've had quite a few appointment either out of the house or involving the Center these last few days.  Second, our bedroom filled the entire living room, not including the furniture.  This should tell you how much stuff was in there that did not belong.

One example: binders.  These binders are a compilation of the classes I've taken and taught, my thoughts, and randomness (salad!).  Instead of removing pages I no longer needed I purchased more binders.  I reduced 15 binders down to 4 binders and 2 of them are my Master Herbalism course and there is no trimming of those binders.  How often we do that.  Buy more because we are being lazy or can't find something.

Tim was looking through a kitchen drawer and found a plethora of wine openers.  It seems every vacation we buy another one as we didn't pack one.  So Tim took 2 of them and placed them in our glove boxes.  If its a vacation that we take one of our vehicles on, we are now covered.  What a smart one he is!  Go hubby go!

I am now beginning to see the brilliance behind an annual purge.  Last year I got rid of 3 yard waste bags of clothes.  This year I don't have quite so much to get rid of, but some things I kept from last year I haven't worn once and it was easy to throw it into the donate pile.  Same things with my jewelry cases.

I still have a large amount of things to go through and I'm hoping to finish today or tomorrow so I can move forward.  It is difficult to stay motivated when you work all day and there doesn't appear to be much of an impact.  Appearance and reality are 2 different things and I keep reminding myself of that.

Back to the grindstone.  Wish me luck!
